Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was conceived in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was born 5 May 1998 in Minsk Belarus. Her career has seen her been awarded 12 WTA singles titles including a Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. As a doubles specialist she has also won both the US Open of 2019 as and in the Australian Open of 2021 with Elise Mertens. Alongside her fellow Belgian tennis player, she won an award called the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019 thus making the Sunshine Double. This feat was made possible by four couples in singles for women. In January of 2023 she reached her highest ranking in singles. On the 23rd of August 2021, she climbed into the top two spot of world rankings. The Belarusian rose to the top of the doubles rankings in the year following, having winning the doubles title in Melbourne. She became the only Belarusian tennis player to be successful in tennis. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis star, played with her from her 2018 season to the close of this season in 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her short-term coach between August and September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov is her coach who has been with her since the beginning of 2020. Serena Williams & Maria Sharapova have been her inspirations.
